The full "De Vuelta con el Cuaderno"'s Notebook

At last I have finished my last post about the course "De Vuelta con El Cuaderno", I hope you enjoy as I did when I drew it.

This is my notebook, with two spots caused by my box of watercolors. Neither coffee, nor chocolate with churros. Since I received the packet, wrapped with all that care, open it was painful, but it had to do.

We were presenting, some we knew each other only physically and online. It was the great moment was when everything started. We had been waiting more than two months before, others, like me, we had last year. With the certainty of having lost something very important, comparable to a concert where they played the best solo of the world. But fortunately, this year the level was maintained or even exceeded. Everything began and the start was given by Jorge Arranz. The essence is captured in these pages, but if I highlight some of this is, how everything is Jorge, apparently simple: "Do not be afraid." It's back to the first stage of the children of three years, that moment where you take a pencil represents nothing and the burden of prejudices is level 0.

The next paper was given by Marta Cardenas, I must admit that I did not know much about her work. However, although the results do not motivate me in particular, what does interest me greatly was the process and especially the attitude that kept to all the stimuli she receives. She was always with her eyes wide open and always had an anecdote to illustrate his explanations to explain.

Once afternoon and began the workshop sessions. Of course, my choice was to walk through Zaragoza, kick and see the historic center, on the suggestion of Jorge  Arranz and Alfredo Gonzalez . Now that I see my notebook, I think it lacks color and I need agility. During our walk I saw Alfredo built drawings, pulling lines without hesitation, as Miguel Herranz (Freekhand) told us, "pointing and shooting."

This is the profile shot of the front of Central Market. I like that is a point that many people do for attention, like the capitals of the columns devoted to products sold there, but if you see a big picture of the building do not miss the the great Luis Ruiz.

We ride ended in the Plaza de San Felipe. I got the last one and all and were engrossed in their drawings so I did one of the participants drawing, Fabiola.
That night we went to El Plata. The show, the truth is that I found incredible, I never would have gone to El Plata on my own feet. I thank you people propose things and I try to make the effort to see things that I had not proposed in life to myself. I tried  to do portraits, but speed is not my thing and maybe the story would have to apply myself as Marta Cardenas said "draw just watching and letting flow together." I have not enough confidence in it or me. We all dined together.

In El Plata was one of the few times when we could see without drawing Lapin, leafing through books and other timbers including Toño, firefighter, who seemed more than a globetrotter than a firefitgther, something you can see from his last book drawn in Lebanon. The performances were going on without stopping and I decided to draw something that was quiet: the mirror hanging on one of the pillars of the room.

The second day, Jose Maria, another of the speakers showed us some beautiful travel notebooks, which are not published. What a pitty!!. I guess it's difficult to understans someone doing something so wonderful to share it only occasionally. If I were a publisher, and I commented to Jorge Herranz, I edited many books which were presented and were drawn there.

We were all listening to the explanations about José María's great travel notebooks. I also found very interesting his initiative of selfpublishing little portraits' books of people he found in each of his trips. Then it sends to each of them.

After already started another presentation, Isidro Ferrer. The second presentation touched my least, a priori, the least caught my attention. Just the day before had to appear before all and "sell" the workshop would take place with all those who stay. Unfortunately, it said that we should take notes of fifty and burn them and did not understand the joke. Please, I'm Catalan and the money does not play! He did not really feel like staying in a class, I repeat, I wanted to draw and teachers stroll with Jorge and Alfredo. But the paper was surprising, not only for all his work, but because the processes that are raised and how they made use of the notebooks.

The next walk on the street was not very productive. Also coincided with the arrival of my wife and my daughter so I had to go look for them to get to where we slept. I still think that a little color ...

The third day began with the Monica Cid's paper. His hands were explaining the evolution of her drawings, the evolution of her work. I could not resist capturing her hands and add a short explanation of each moment.

The workshop was spent in the morning so we went back out. The intention was to show the Pilar, or rather the path parallel to that we made the previous day. We begin by the square of San Bruno and I drew the side of the Cathedral of La Seo.

After I drew the profile of the facade of the Cathedral. Here Josu Maroto let me try a Pigma Micron  pretty smooth. The line I like much more than that makes my Uniball. I also learned that there is more colors and also indelible.

And finally a part of the Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar.

Who am I?

Well, internet can become a wonderful place, an incredible site for anonymity, but I think we need to relate a name with a face. After last week course I've decided to make clearer it: I'm Víctor and my nickname is Swasky. Here in this picture, I am, buying my favourite snack, in Zaragoza, of course. Over my picture there is our identification. No one hung it, just one girl and Isabel was her name.
